Clifford Allotment Holders Association
There are currently 34 full allotments on our site but some are now split into smaller sized allotments. The annual rent for a full plot in 2025 is £38.00 which increases yearly by £1.00 at the present time. Smaller plots pay somewhat less. All tenants also have to pay an initial bond of £50 returnable when they leave, assuming the plot is left in good condition. Clifford Allotments Holders Association has taken on much of the work and responsibility for the allotments from the Parish Council who own the land. A Committee voted in by the tenants meets monthly to discuss issues and take action for the benefit of its members. It also does regular plot checks. The AGM is held in May and is followed by a General Meeting and other more informal meetings are held during the year. The Association is a member of the N.A.S [The National Society of Allotment and Leisure Gardens Ltd]. Clifford Drama Group
Clifford is blessed with a very polished Drama Group which puts on two plays every year in the Village Hall.
They run a very effective Patron scheme which allows patrons to attend all productions free. They also get to attend a wide variety of other functions put on by the Group, such as the annual BBQ, theatre visits, etc.
As with most drama clubs they are always eager to attract more members to act on stage, present or produce plays or help with all the other things needed behind the scenes.

Clifford Ladies
Ladies of all ages are welcome to join this group of around 50 who meet monthly. We listen to speakers, go on outings and enjoy the friendship of like-minded women. Meetings are at Clifford Village Hall at 7pm for 7.30 and outings are during the day; details in Outlook.

Clifford Local History Group
The group is keen to welcome new members to take part in tracing the history of our village. We also submit comments on planning applications which potentially affect historical features in the village. We meet regularly through the year with a public presentation, usually in the autumn, on aspects of the history of Clifford open to all residents.

Daytones Harmony Chorus
As a group of men who sing popular songs, we entertain at charity events, social clubs, festivals and more. We meet to rehearse (and relax) every Tuesday in Clifford Village hall between 10am and noon. Harmony Squares
American Square Dancing provides gentle mental and physical exercise in a fun friendly atmosphere. Harmony Squares holds sessions for beginners and experienced dancers on Wednesday evenings at Clifford Village Hall from 7:00 p.m.

Ladies’ Friendship Hour

Tamara Two-Steppers
You are invited to “come dancing” with us on Wednesday evenings. Our Club, “Tamara Two-Steppers”, is a small but very friendly round dance club with 24 members. We dance in the Methodist School Room, Church View Mews, Clifford on the second and fourth Wednesday evenings each month from about 7.00pm. We have been dancing in Clifford for some four or five years, before which we danced in Bramham Village Hall. The club was formed in 1999 at East Ardsley and we moved shortly after that to Bramham.
Round dancing is best described as “choreographed ballroom dancing” where the instructions (Cues) are given by a cuer so that all the floor are doing the same steps at the same time.
This is intended for those who have never danced before or have done very little dancing as well as experienced dancers who wish to try something a little different.

Wetherby & District University of the Third Age
U3As are local, self-managed recreational and learning groups for people no longer in full-time work. We are people who are looking for fun, enjoyment, new interests, new friends and to keep mentally active. Wetherby & District University of the Third Age provides opportunities for members to share learning experiences in a wide range of interest groups and to pursue learning for fun.
We have 100+ established groups from Architecture via Cycling and Map Reading to Walking. We have a full colour Newsletter that comes out 3 times per year and a Monthly Memo to keep our members up to date with what is going on in the groups. These can be picked up, as well as information leaflets and membership forms, at Wetherby and Boston Spa libraries.
Membership is £14 per year which includes 11 Monthly Open Meetings with speakers, a Showcase event at the Engine Shed in December, the U3A magazine delivered five times a year and the opportunity to be a member of a wide range of groups.
